Freestone Point

Built as a project for the 70th anniversary of the Kiwanis Club of Belleville, Freestone Point was named in honour of the late R.W.G. (Bob) Freestone, Past President of the Club (1964). Bob was an active member of the Club, a member of the City’s’ Parks and Recreation committee and a member of the Belleville Garden Club.

The point, which has become a very popular location for users of the Kiwanis Bayshore Trail, was a continuation of the Club’s pledge to the development of the Kiwanis Bayshore Trail. It is located on the east side of the Meyers Pier Harbour, a very popular facility for both tourists and residents.

The Point has park benches for users to sit and relax, lights for safety during evening walks and a floral and arbour display for all to enjoy.
